Jobs but no way to get there

On Tuesday, I will take a tour of the Inland Port with members of the Economic Development Committee. This is an area partly located in Dallas, that provides thousands of jobs, but no way to get there for many local residents. For the past year, I have led the effort for the city of Dallas's first ever workforce development program. We will connect Dallas residents in the most impoverished areas with opportunities not only for jobs, but with career opportunities. Transportation will be a key area of focus as we connect local residents to job opportunities in the Inland Port. I commend Southern Dallas Logistics for stepping up and providing a means of transportation for those who need it. We need to increase their capacity so we can get more people who live in the Highland Hills area, and other parts of Oak Cliff to work. Stay tuned for more details on this topic.
